Survivor: China: September 2007 Archives
Ni hao!
Day 4 begins at the Fei Long camp with everybody working while JR is snoring. It seems the poor man gets tired easily and must take frequent naps. Todd and Amanda decide to ally together as a group of two and then approach Aaron about being their third wheel. Aaron accepts.
Meanwhile, over at Zhan Hu Dave is carrying on about getting his firepit built while Ashley's whining about not having any food. She wants to set up a tiny fire so they can eat some rice but Dave will have none of it. We also got our first blurred body part of the night - Ashley's groinal area. It seems her panties don't fit too well when you're looking at her from a side view if you know what I mean.
The first reward challenge of this season is a down and dirty one. Mud wrestling! Well, that's what it basically was. I'm still perplexed as to why some of them took the approach of 'I'm going to pull down your pants and pull off your top and hope you stop to put your clothes back on.' Besides the many blurred spots, we got to see many of them being quite physical with each other. One of the guys actually shoved one of the girls down by her head into the mud. Nice! Fei Long won reward which was fishing gear, a fishing boat, and they were able to 'kidnap' one member of Zhan Hu to take back to camp with them. That person would stay until the next immunity challenge.
They chose to take Jaime because they believed she was the ray of sunshine over at Zhan Hu and wanted to deprive them of her glorious light. Jeff gave Jaime a message that she was to open in private when she got to the Fei Long camp. The message was that she could pick one person in Fei Long to give a clue to. She chose Leslie and Leslie's clue was about the hidden immunity idol being at camp.
Day 6 at Fei Long begins with Leslie looking for the immunity idol. And then, she approaches Todd and tells him she wants him to trust her. And then? She tells him about the hidden immunity idol. Todd can't believe she told him. I can't either Todd. I can't either.
Time for immunity! Each tribe had some Chinese puzzle log they had to use to smash through two separate walls and then maneuver the puzzle log through some contraption. First tribe done with that and bangs the gong wins immunity. It was no contest really. Fei Long wins and one more member will be voted out of Zhan Hu.
At tribal council, Jeff's going back and forth with Dave and Ashley. Ashley told him (and everybody else) she'll be voting for Dave to go. Time for voting.
Bye bye Ashley. We hardly knew ya. I'm sure the people in charge of 'blurring' are glad you're gone too.
Ni hao!
And so it begins. The 15th installment of Survivor is off and running. Or jogging. Or strolling. Or crawling.
Was it just me or was tonight's season premiere kinda boring?
I really didn't want to type that but I couldn't help it. I'm sitting here going over my notes (yes I take notes) and I'm not seeing anything truly exciting about the show tonight.
The temple in the opening was absolutely gorgeous. The whole Leslie/Courtney thing is already old to me. They had to leave their suitcases and went to camp with just the clothes on their backs. *yawn*
The tribes were pre-arranged by Survivor and are:
Fei Long (Flying Dragon), red tribe - Jean-Robert (now named JR), Leslie, Amanda, Courtney, Denise, James, Todd, and Aaron
Zhan Hu (Fighting Tiger), yellow tribe - Frosti, Dave, Jaime, Erik, Peih-Gee (PG), Sherea, Ashley, and Chicken
After gathering according to tribes at the temple, they are sent off to their camps with a map and The Art of War. They arrive at their respective camps with rice but no flint. Of course, we have the obligatory 'time to build shelter' segments.
At Fei Long, Courtney is annoyed by her fellow tribemates. JR doesn't believe Todd is a flight attendant. And then? JR blew some smoke up Todd's arse telling him he thinks he's pretty sharp. What did Todd do? He asked JR not to tell the others that he thinks he's sharp. LMAO!!!
At Zhan Hu, Sherea is complaing about how hard things are. Chicken's trying to guide the others about how to build the shelter but none of them are really listening. Ashley's going on about her wrestling and showing the others how to dance. PG tells the camera she thinks they're the lazy camp. The others start to ask Chicken's opinion now on how to build the shelter but since they wouldn't listen to him earlier, he's not willing to offer it anymore.
The immunity challenge (the immunity idol is one of a buddha terracotta army soldier btw - thanks David!) was OK but nowhere near what I'd expect from the first challenge of the season. I thought it was way too easy. I really thought Frosti would kick ass in this comp (and he did) but James kicked bigger ass! Go James! Yay! Red tribe won. Yellow tribe will be sending somebody home.
Back at the losing tribe's camp (yellow), there's more work to be done considering their absolutely lousy shelter. Dave tries to give everybody a pep talk (you could feel him wanting to give a sly wink to the camera). PG complains that they'll never win if they don't have a decent shelter. Now they're asking Chicken's opinion again about it. Chicken's still not offering his thoughts (bad move Chicken).
We did get our first blurred out body part tonight thanks to Ashley (imagine that). She gets up from wherever she was sitting and starts walking away while her right nip is peeking out. But I guess when you have boobage like that....
At tribal council Jeff asks if any of them want to step up into a leadership role. Dave immediately raises his hand and then PG raises hers as though it were an afterthought. Ashley rolling her eyes while PG talks. Chicken says the person who should go is the person who contributed the least. Ashley is worried because she'd been sick and said she technically is the one who did the least amount of work.
Time to vote and guess who the first person evicted from Survivor: China was? It was Chicken. At least the yellow team gets fire via their torches and they get flint now.
Chicken's goodbye to the camera was a good one. The best part? "Noone more proud to have been such a small part of one big adventure. Truly an honor to be here - without a doubt."
Random thoughts - I think PG is a little bitch and hopes she goes soon. Courtney and Ashley are also on my nerves. JR's ego needs to be knocked down a notch or two. Chicken seemed to be a sweet guy but was too hard-headed when he was repeatedly asked to share his opinions and refused to do so just because he'd been rebuffed earlier.
What are your thoughts about Survivor, the tribes, and the players this season?
Ni hao!
Tonight is the night that many of us have been waiting for. Survivor's back!
I am so excited and can't wait. I swear I've watched all of the 'Behind the Scenes' videos on the main Survivor page about a million times already. Really! Well, more like ten times I guess. Really.
I think it's great that they filmed that stuff and let us watch. You get such a different perspective on the locales and what's really going on in the background. I also love watching Jeff Probst doing something other than hosting challenges and tribal council. I wonder if he'd do a celebrity Big Brother? Would he shower in his swim trunks or.... Ahem. I'm getting off topic.
Have you checked out the bios of the survivors or watched their casting videos? Some very interesting people we have this season indeed. Here's a quick list of the survivors this season:
* Jean-Robert Bellande, 36, Professional poker player from Las Vegas, NV
* James Clement, 30, Gravedigger from Lafayette, Louisiana

* Jaime Dugan, 22, Student from Columbia, South Carolina
* Todd Herzog, 22, Flight attendant from Pleasant Grove, Utah

Any survivors from your area? The one that's closest to me is James - the gravedigger. I still wonder why Frosti's on the show since he's only 20. There must be some reason.
Are you going to be watching Survivor on CBS at 8:00 PM ET/PT tonight? I hope so! Do you have any early favorites? What did you think of the 'Behind the Scenes' videos?
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is HamsterDame. I know, my parents were cruel. I have been blogging Big Brother over at Silly Hamsters for Real Networks since 2005. Yes, I am definitely a Big Brother freak.
Besides Big Brother though, I'm a freak for all things TV but especially Reality and have been since I can remember. It all began for me with Cops and The Real World. Give me Reality or give me death! From the trashy to the cheesy to the weird to the deranged. I can't help it. I love it all.
I'm hoping that you love it all too because if you don't, then what are you doing here? But since you probably love it too I hope you'll stick around here on Silly Reality and share your thoughts on the shows. You may not agree with some of the things I say and that's perfectly fine! Your opinion is your opinion and I'm very respectful of that so don't be afraid to say what's on your mind.
Finally, let me address one more thing. Silly Reality will NOT be spoiler-free. If you don't want to know whose torch was snuffed out, who got the rose, or whose time on the runway is done then it might be beneficial to you to wait until the show airs in your area before checking in here. I live in the Central time zone so I'm watching the shows at the same time the Eastern folks are. Consider yourselves forewarned!
With that said, I can't wait for this upcoming fall season to start up! Kid Nation and Survivor are a couple of the starters this week. I've been waiting for both of those for awhile now - especially Survivor!
While you're waiting for the shows to start and/or when you're looking for info or some other places to mingle be sure to check out some of those links in my sidebars over there on the right.
Let's settle in and have some fun. And to all of you joining me over here from Silly Hamsters, "Howdy!"
