Survivor: Erik Is Stupid
Erik, you have taken over James in the "Dumbest Survivor Ever" category.
Seriously, what in the world were you thinking? I'm at such a loss for words right now that it's not even funny. When you ran off after getting voted out unanimously, did you cry like a baby at the huge mistake you made? You knew it was up to only you to keep yourself in the game. Those women have been wanting to get rid of you for many days (many weeks for us). How could you give your immunity to one of them? Have you no faith in the jury? Even if you only won second place, it would have netted you more money than the fifth place you finished this season.
I still can't help but feel a little sorry for you though. I said just a little. Gah! I can't you believe you screwed up so badly. I mean, James not using either one of his immunity idols on Survivor China was pretty bad. But you doing this?
Now I'm left trying to pick out who I'm rooting for to win. At this point, I'm pulling for either Cirie or Catalie to win it all. I would really love to see a fan win this season and nobody can say that Catalie doesn't deserve to be there at the end with the gameplay she's had going on lately. And then there's Cirie. She's been working hard ever since the first day. So I'd be perfectly fine with either of those two ladies winning.
This Sunday, May 9th, at 8:00 PM ET will be the season's two-hour finale followed by the hour-long reunion show. Who do you want to win? And what do you think about Erik's mistake this week?

Unbelieveable!! As much as I hate what the women did to Erik, you have to give them their due. Cirie, who I don't like, is definitely working this game. I would love to see Natalie voted out next-- and then the fav 3 can duke it out.
HD, I was looking forward to your usual replay. I fell asleep and missed the first 15 minutes. I so wanted to see what happened after last week's blindsiding of Alexis. These last 4-5 episodes and been really good.
From HD - As has been the case for the past several seasons of Survivor, you can watch the episodes for free on CBS' site if you missed any part of them. Sorry to disappoint you with a lack of play-by-play. Seems I can't NOT disappoint anybody anywhere lately.
Yep, never thought Erik would ever fall for that. Poor silly thing, losing all context. This one reminds me of Marcellas's massive stupid, trusting move on Big Brother.
Will we ever agree on peeps HD? LOL. I am an Amanda fan. So I pretty much am rooting for Amanda whether she deserves it or not.
Good Grief, what an idiot! I was so pulling for him to win the immunity Idol, then what does the guy do -- gives it away, so he win redemption. All he won, was them laughing at how stupid he was. He was winning contest after contest, so his best chance was to stay in the game and continue to win and worry about the jury votes at the end, at this point. Dumb. There, I have said idiot, stupid and dumb all in one paragraph. And I mean every one! And as he is leaving his comments are how thrilled he was to play and talk with "former/current stars of the show." Wait until he thinks it over as to what he just threw away... that is if he is capable of thought.
Ah well moving on, Sunday is it. Can't believe it is almost here.
With BB done, Dancing almost done, Idol, almost done, and Survivor - what am I going to do? Might have to get a life!
When he rolled his eyes and then made a remark about keeping his fate in his own hands, i let out my breath. Relieved, I sat back to see who they were going to turn on next, hoping Natalie.
Then he took it off, ignoring the jury right in from of him just LAUGHING at his unbelieveable blindness, and i threw my remote.
The thought that Parv might have the idol and in an even more fantasical turn, give it to Eric, crossed my mind. It soon departed after it hit the logic center of my brain. She has masterminded some of the boldest plays in the game, and isn't the equitable type.
The fact that he fell for it astounds me, but after all, we are talking about 4 scheming women. Men may be able to overcome that, but Erik was a naive lad who was blinded by bad acting, and, quite frankly, Amanda's rack.
For the record, I was not a fan of Erik. His Ozzy worship turned me off, but I hated to see someone get duped by a half-brained ploy that was soooooo transparent. Has anyone EVER taken off that necklace??? EVER???
I was a little disapointed you were rooting for James. lol kidding but anywho. I swear that was probably my favorite episode of Survivor sience(god I cant spell that word I tried a 100 times). Richard won in season 1. That show is what reality tv is all about.
It was a sad, awkard moment in Survivor history to see a guy make a jack-ass out of himself on television like that. Because he had an Owen Wilson thing going on, I felt, hey, at least he is likable, unlike the rest of the final players. Dumb, yes. A virgin, perhaps. But still likable.
Now, he is gone and there is no one left that I want to see win. I know people like Amanda, but I just can't get onto that bus; I am not sure the exact reason, even though she will probably be the winner when it comes to an end. Maybe it was the way she used her sexuality, all smiling, and faking innocence throughout the game.
Back to Erik, the guy needs to get a clue. Amanda called him naive, which is true. But also sad if you think about it, because he is basically the same age as she is; I think she is only a year older to be exact. Does he not know how the game is played? No excuse! Did he not understand that keeping the idol was his only chance? Ugh! There is no excuse he can make that will validate giving the idol to that Grinch-looking sour-puss named Natalie. None at all. Luckily she will go home empty too.
This has been a horrible season of Survivor. One of the worst. It is like watching people playing checkers with a chess pieces. I honestly think they need to give these players a basic test in logic before they pick them.
Since Erik is a big fan, he should've asked himself: If I give this immunity away, how will my home-town perceive me?
June
Actually, I seem to remember one of the seasons, (I think it was Guatemala), where one person who was pretty much guaranteed to win the game, jumped off on the final immunity challenge, so his friend would forgive him, or something dumb like that. I forget the guy's name, though, except he was tall, thin, good looking and blonde, and it was the season Stephanie's tribe got completely wiped out.
Back to this season: Now tell me, is this one of the best seasons of Survivor, or what? My only complaint is that it seems to have gone by so fast. I thought Eric giving up the immunity neckless was high entertainment, myself. IMO, Cirie is the one really calling the shots here. She suggested Nat talk him out of the necklace. She told Amanda to go get Eric to take her on reward. I've really been a fan of Cirie all along. I absolutely loved her during her season, and if anything, she's gotten even better at the manipulation angle. Best case scenario for me would be Cirie and Amanda in the final, as we all know what a dud Amanda is when trying to defend herself before a final jury. Then Cirie to win it all! (These women really are the bomb. An innocent, naive pup like Eric never had a chance against them. Are they pussy whipping the boys or what?)
Hey HD and her crew!
I too was amazed and screaming at my television last night. Can't believe how easily manipulated these guys have been this season. Bitches man... bitches! LOL
It also seemed to me that with his line of questioning, Jeff was leading Erik down that path of destruction. Why didn't he ask Erik, "How can you trust any of these "ladies" to keep their word to you when they all feel they can't trust you now?"
HD I can't believe you would ever hope for that stone cold bitch Natalie to win this. Her black widow act is sickening. That one gives me the willies in a real bad way! But you do like your drama queens don't you?
Go Amanda! please don't let the dastardly ones win.
Unbelievable! Jury votes don't count if you don't get to the finals, Erik!!! Were you not paying attention when the last three players got blindsided at tribal council?!?
At this point, I'd be happy with Cirie or Amanda winning, but I think Amanda deserves it more. She has not really ticked anyone off (until Erik now) and she is a great competitor and smart player. Cirie has been a great manipulator while making it all look like someone else's fault, and still being personable.
Natalie REALLY rubs me the wrong way. What a biyatch!
Parv has had an entitlement mentality without being stellar in competitions, etc, as evidenced by her decision not to search for the hidden idol or make any effort at all to win the immunity challenge last night. She's was playing on her role as a sex kitten early on and is riding on Amanda's coattails now.
And, HD, I can't remember when, but I'm pretty certain there was one time when someone gave away the immunity necklace, but it didn't turn out like this!
OMG, what an episode!
To answer one of the questions in the comments, Jenna gave the immunity necklace to Heidi in their season, but it turned out way better for Jenna and Heidi than it did for Erik.
To answer one of the other questions, Ian gave up so he could redeem himself with Tom on Survivor Palau.
And, yes, in case anyone is wondering I did get all the trivia questions right in last night's competition and I admit to being an idiot savante.
But I digress. I think every one of these women deserves to be in the final 4. They have played a fantastic game. Parvati turned it around by engineering Ozzy's ouster. Cirie has been manipulating and engineering since Day 1. What can you say about Amanda and Nathalie's manipulation techniques? They are off the chart.
For me, I would be happy with whoever wins on Sunday because I think these women have all worked together to ensure that there are four women in the final. Vanuatu tried it, but this season pulled it off.
Hi HD
This has been my fav season so far. You just have no idea what will happen next. With people getting blindsided at counsel, getting hurt (poor James) asking people to vote them out (fairplay), and just leaving on there own. If Erik hasnt realized what the women are doing he deserved to leave. Since James is gone, I am now rooting on Cirie. I cant wait till the reunion show James is no longer the dumbest Survivor.
At the risk of sounding elitist and/or snobbish, it just goes to show that Erik is not the brightest bulb in the group... could be that's why he's an "ice cream scooper" as a career!?!?!?!?
Those ladies are good!!!
I had to drop in and see what was being said about this. I'm not watching Survivor myself, but mrs. gray called me in from doing something else to tell me about what the women were trying to get Erik to do. I was really sort of pissed, "You got me in here for this?! Nobody is that stupid." I left and went back to what I was doing. A few minutes later she was yelling at me the he had actually done it. Damn, I was wrong.
Changing the subject, you replied to the first post: Seems I can't NOT disappoint anybody anywhere lately.
Kinda sucks to run a free service and hear complaints about it, doesn't it? Let me make you feel better with two old sayings:
(1) No good deed goes unpunished. (This applies to Erik, too)
(2) If you were to stand on a street corner passing out $100 bills for free, somebody would complain because you didn't have five twenties instead.
Hey HD, you do a wonderful job here and on Hamsters, if anyone has a problem with what you do then they should try doing the things you do, bet they wouldnt be able to keep up!
Anyways, I am pulling now for either Amanda or Parv.
I cant stomach Catalie or Cirie. Didnt like her in her season, and dont like her in this one either. She may have been working hard, but I seriously dont see it at all. Oh, did you mean working hard at stabbing anyone that comes within 10 feet of her in the back or the front?
Great job HD! Love both of your sites! Thank you for all that you do!
To dol and gray and anyone else who misunderstood my post.
I have read and re-read it several times and cannot for the life of me understand why I am being accused of complaining and criticizing HD. Why is it so wrong for me to say that I miss reading her play by play? I miss the sun when it doesn't shine, but I'm not complaining against God. Something nice, I missed it, period. Because I don't visit all the sites and I knew HD wasn't doing a recap of Survivor here, I didn't think I would find out what happened during the first 15 minutes because I fell asleep.
I've left comments before BB and other shows complimenting HD on the job she does. Why would I complain or criticize her hard work? Unfortunately for me, I'm very sensitive and I know I shouldn't take this personally, but I just can't figure out what I wrote that was so wrong. Its really bugging me.
And thanks HD. I didn't know I could view full episodes online. So, I was able to see the parts I missed on the CBS.com site.
From HD - It's not really an excuse but perhaps it is. I keep getting comments and emails from people wanting me to do play-by-plays of every single episode of every single reality show out there. I reply to those emails from people who obviously don't really get that there's a real live breathing person at the other end reading of that email and I reply to them but people still aren't happy. And then people want to rag on me because I'm not constantly updating Silly Hamsters. Those people must not realize that BB9 is over. So to get yet another email/comment from somebody about not doing a play-by-play after I'd already explained the situation (to you) just really got to me. I apologize for being rude but I do hope you understand. And everybody else, get off lindabrownssister's back. LOL!
Ok, just like poor little ice cream boy Eric made the dumbest move ever on Survivor, so too perhaps I am the dumbest or at least the most literal blogger boy out there (although I am definitely not long-haired and blond, and definitely not skinny as a plank of wood, and most definitely do not sell ice cream) because I have been trying to decide why HD has been calling Natalie, Catalie. First I thought it was a typo and stressed whether I should tell her, then I figured oh, haha, she's combining Natalie and Cirie, and finally just now, made the executive decision "oh she's calling her "Catalie" cuz she's a cat..." duh duh duh duh... (Well at least I hope that's it... ). But I'm sure the rest of you knew that straight off, right? In any event I'm soooo happy to be able to release that little obsessive moment out of my system and move on. Of course if there'd been any previous talk of Catalie, I hadn't seen it.
Moving on... Method -- for a brief moment I thought the exact same thing as you -- that Parvati had the idol and gave it to Erik to play. The promo had said "THE MOST SHOCKING EPISODE EVER." So I figured it had to be even more shocking than just ice cream boy giving up his idol. And I also thought it possible because Parvati's game plan all along has been to catch people off guard.
About Parvati -- much as I dislike her first move that struck Ozzie out of the game, it was the pivotal move in the game. The golden web that caught that first big fly and all the others to come. I have to admit that the girl has balls to have made a move that most people wouldn't have dreamed of. Parv's going to be the pivotal vote during the first part of the finale on Sunday. But I am pretty sure she's going to want to take out Natalie since physically and endurance-wise Cirie is no threat. Or she may decide to keep up with the bold moves and finally take out Amanda. I think she has to keep Cirie because I think Cirie may be the only one she can win against. However, the "feel" i am getting from the production and the way they show snippets of people talking to the camera, I am getting the strong feel that Cirie is going to win this.
CanFan I completely agree with you. These women all deserve to be here.
I actually like Natalie's tv bitchery cuz she has a sense of humor about it. Not even Evil Dick, Dr. Will, or smart-mouthed Janelle from Big Brother would have dreamed up, let alone said, that line about "flossing her teeth with Jason's jugular." Sorry but that is damn brilliant.
Erik also has a great sense of humor about himself. His line about becoming an ice cream man and being an ice cream boy no longer, was pretty adorable. And I just keep thinking about poor little ice cream boy and feeling bad for him. But is Erik really any dumber than James or Jason or Ozzy? Is having an idol and not playing it because you trust someone less stupid than giving your idol away because you trust someone? At least Erik considered the fact that he might get burned. And you know, Todd Herzog the winner of last season of Survivor gave away an immunity idol and he still won the game. So wasn't it a calculated risk on Eric's part at least?
And as far as a fan winning... if a fan wins this, then Amanda, Cirie and Parvati should all be moved to the dumb column. :)
Well I guess I had a lot to say this evening. Be well all.
This is the first season where I don't really have a strong preference going into the final four. Natalie convinced two guys to completely act against their own self-interest twice. The way Amanda played the tribe and the jury when they blindsided Alexis was great. Parvati and Cirie, two people I did not like on their original seasons, are fun to watch. They have both played the game well. The only person I didn't want to win was Erik.
I must also add my observation of the total downplay of Parv on Exile. Last time they downplayed Exile island, it was because Amanda had found the idol.
Then again, that might have been the intent of the producers to throw a curve at us.
It was so disappointing that Amanda didn't get the well deserved win and that it was given to one of the catty sisters by a bunch of jealous, conniving and unworthy bitches.
I saw nothing contrived in Amanda's tears or anything fake in her emotional response to having to choose between friends.
Alexis, Eliza, Natalie and even Cirie should all be ashamed of themselves for not looking past their personal feelings and giving the prize to the person who won ONE competition the whole game!
