The Biggest Loser: Pride On Three
I really can't stand the guys on the blue team! I don't think I've ever disliked one whole team in any of the previous seasons. All of Jay's crying and carrying on at the beginning of the show was enough to make my stomach turn. I know he misses his brother but come on! Mark just went home. He didn't die! Glad to see Bob help prop Jay up though (NOT!) by volunteering to be a "brother" along with Dan and Roger for him. Ugh, they all just annoy me to no end this season.
I liked the temptation challenge a lot! If you missed it, Alison Sweeney came in and told them all that it was snack time. They then went to a vending machine that was filled with fatty snacks (chocolate candies, peanut butter cups, potato chips, etc), sugar-free gum with cash awards on the back, or a 1-lb pound pass for the next weigh-in. If, when they made their selection, they received junk food they had to eat it before quitting or trying again. If they got the gum, they won the money for it and could quit the challenge or continue on. If they got the 1-lb pound pass, their turn was over.
Every single one of them wound up getting the 1-lb pound pass except for Dan and Kelly. It wasn't for lack of trying though. Dan wound up eating potato chips, chocolate candies, cheese and crackers, Kit Kats, and then got gum. He got gum and gum and more gum for a total of $9,500. He chose to stop after getting his last pack of gum and forget about the 1-lb pound pass. Kelly got a Twinkie, then peanut butter cups, then Oreos, and finally Kit Kats. She decided not to go on because she felt she wouldn't be able to keep all that junk down. Jay and Maggie were the luckiest in that they didn't have to eat anything at all. They both got their 1-lb pound pass on their first try. It sucked for me because I was hoping Jay would have eaten like Dan did.
Because Bernie was the Biggest Loser last week, he had the ability to choose from one of the three envelopes on the hill. He chose the gameplay envelope which had in it the ability for him to give immunity to any player (besides himself) on any time for the week. As soon as I saw that, I knew instantly who he'd give it to and you probably did too. Brittany of course!
After getting checkups and results on their weight loss to date at the hospital, it was time for a challenge. There was this huge ravine they had to zipline across while gathering flags. Each person had five minutes to gather 14 flags and at the end of the competition, the team with the most flags would get the chance to become fighter pilots for a day. Now that is a prize I'd love to win! Bernie did a great job for his blue team and got all 14 of his flags but unfortunately his fellow team members weren't able to do the same. The black team lost yet again.
At the weigh-in, Alison dropped the bomb on them before they all weighed in. No more teams -- they're competiting as individuals for the duration of the show starting right then. Most of them were really happy about being singles now but especially Kelly and Jay. Brittany, the first to hop on the scales because she'd been given immunity by Bernie for the week, lost 5 pounds for a total of 47 pounds. After the others weighed (Roger has lost 100+ now), it was Bernie and Kelly below the yellow line.
Brittany was understandably upset. Her and Bernie were the last "couple" remaining in the house and now he might go home after giving her immunity. By the way, if he hadn't given Brittany immunity it would have been her and Kelly below the yellow line. The former members of the black team voted for Kelly to go home at the elimination ceremony but the blue team stuck together and voted out their biggest threat -- Bernie.
I was so sad to see Bernie go home! I wish weepy washy Kelly would have gone home this week. She probably wasn't even smart enough to see through the bullpoop that Roger/Jay/Dan were feeding her before the ceremony. She's a bigger threat than Bernie? Puh-lease! It was good to see that Bernie has gone on and continued to lose weight. He'd lost a total of 88 pounds on campus and now has lost 108. He's not looking bad at all if I do say so myself!
So what did you think of this week's episode? Next week's sounds really good! I didn't see the preview (was there one?) but some snooping around online led me to this, "It's down to the six final contestants, but not for long. In a shocking twist, all fourteen of the players eliminated so far return to the ranch and surprise the six. At the weigh-in, the scale reveals how the eliminated contestants have done on their own at home, and the man and woman who have lost the most weight get to the return to the game." Very interesting!

It would be great to see a woman win the whole thing for a change, and no more so than this season with those egomaniacal men!! I've had more than enough of Dan's attitude--you know, if he were a woman, he'd be labeled catty!
I thought the episode was pretty good and it will be interesting to see where it goes next week. I esp. liked seeing Dr. Jeff from Season Two--he looks amazing! Bernie looks great too. It's always surprising to see how much their faces have changed after losing all that weight.
I really liked Bernie, too, and was sorry to see him go but happy that he has continued to lose weight. He does look great and we just might see him on a magazine cover!
I agree with you about the blue team. I hope the girls kick their rearends next week. They are insufferable. I can't decide who I am most fed up with -- good ole boy Roger, crybaby Jay or cocky Dan. I guess I dislike Dan the least; he's just immature and time will take care of that.
I wonder who will come back. For the men, it might be Mark. I saw him on the Today show this week and he has lost a lot more weight. For the women, Dan's mom? Or the daughter on the pink team?? I guess we'll find out next week.
Argh! If Mark comes back, I might just have to give up on the show for this season.
While I don't really like his fellow blue teamers, I still like Roger. I'd take him over weepy Kelly (does she do the Eeyore thing every week or what?!) or Maggie.
Very sorry to see Bernie go home. I think he's a really good guy. Hopefully he'll be the one to come back!
I agree with you HD ("I was so sad to see Bernie go home! I wish weepy washy Kelly would have gone home this week").
On the Blue team-- Roger doesn't bother me, but I have had more than enough of Dan. I would like to see Bernie or Trent return. Would not like to see Dan's mom or the Pink ladies come back. Actually, I can't think of any of the ladies I would like to come back. Perhaps the Brown team or the one from Cleveland.
I haven't heard anyone mention that for the last two weeks the men have been wearing shirts during the weigh-ins. There is a God!! . . . I've seen enough hairy man-boobs this season to last a lifetime. . .
Why bother moving to individuals instead of teams?! Whichever team has the larger number going into the merge is just going to pick off the smaller team. I hate it when it becomes inevitable. And I'm still mad at Bob for stacking the deck with all the big men when he got to select his team. . .
Missing Bernie all ready. . .
I too find the blue boys extreamly iratating. And this season Bob is bugging me too. It might have something to do with the stacking the deck thing when choosing his team....
Dan needs to get a slap upside the head and stop taking himself so seriously. Boy, you ain't all that just because your team wins a competition and winning 1 competition doesn't guarantee that you will win the next so leave the smack talk at home and concentrate on the job at hand. And Dan? These good ole boys that you are hanging so tight with right now are the same guys who back stabbed your team and sent your mother home. How soon you forget.
I was really surprised at how persistant some of them were in the quest for the pound pass. I think this is the first competition where everyone gave in to temptation. I don't know if I missed an explaination about how the machine works or what because I would have expected them to be able to figure out what row goes with what letter and then count over to determine the number and get the prize how could it take 4-5 tries to figure out the right number?
I'm sorry anyone from the black team had to go home. I was hoping to see a blue below the line so black could send them on home.
YES, Briget!! I noticed the men kept their shirts on and I was thrilled. Maybe fans complained. Those shirts can't possibly weigh that much, and if they do, they should just calibrate the scales with that in mind.
Briget and Linda, I was ecstatic that the men wore shirts!! I recently read that the scale is actually only a prop although it is still the first time they see how much they weigh -- so having the men go shirtless is purely for dramatic effect, i.e. we can all see just how much weight they've lost by how far their man boobs sag. LOL. Sometimes it is better to leave things to the imagination, eh? I wish they would put shirts on the women instead of those skimpy bra tops that leave NOTHING to the imagination.
I am soooooooo sad Bernie went home. I really like him. I can't stand the blue team at all and especially Dan. Who does he thin he is anyhow. I have liked Bernie and Brittany from the start since they clicked so well considering they never knew each other before.
Once they lose all the weight, do they need surgery to get rid of the man boobs? And i feel they need to wear shirts all of them. It is just not cool to look at these people at the weigh in.
