Celebrity Apprentice: You Piece Of Trash

| | Comments (4)

Donald Trump has to be lovin' this season of his Celebrity Apprentice. His last few seasons of The Apprentice were downright boring and did horrible in the ratings. Of course, that never kept me from missing a single episode. There's just something about him I like. I'm not talking about his looks and I'm not necessarily referring to his money. It's his power in real life that always hooked me. You also have to give the man some credit for being smart.

Smart is exactly what he was when he put together this celebrity cast. The ratings have been wonderful (it's been renewed for a second season) and that's due, in no small part, to the inclusion of Piers Morgan and Omarosa Manigault Stallworth in the cast. There have been fireworks between the British tabloid editor and political consultant since the first day. It began as relatively minor verbal sparring but has now turned into an all out war between the two egomaniacs.

On this week's episode, Donald realigned the teams because the ladies had been doing so horribly in the previous weeks. And guess which two ended up on the same team. You guessed it -- Omarosa and Piers. He was the Project Manager for their team and both of them agreed to a truce for the task. The truce lasted just one night. The morning of their task began with Omarosa misspelling Piers' name on a sheet of paper, him basically calling her stupid, her then calling him an ass and telling him he wasn't a good father, and then him calling her a tramp. It was all quite funny.

Their teammates, Lennox and Carol, didn't find it so funny. They tried to distance themselves from the pair for the rest of the day. The fighting never stopped and escalated instead. Piers "fired" Omarosa from his team but she wouldn't be taking orders from him. Instead, she began doing the exact opposite of what Piers had asked his team to do and continued hawking their carriage ride tickets to passerbys on the street. I was laughing so hard at that!

Amazingly, their team wound up winning and neither would be fired in the board room. Trump did take them off of the same team though by having Omarosa and Marilu switch places for the next task. Do I think that will keep them from fighting in the future? Absolutely not!

I can't decide on who is the primary instigator in all of this. Piers, who hasn't gotten along with many of the others too well on his team, or Omarosa, whose personality is entirely too abrasive and over-bearing. Perhaps I'll be able to make a decision next week!

I don't think either one is the primary instigator, I think they both equally push each others' buttons, and push, and push and push. I've grown weary of the fighting and it is actually not at all enjoyable to watch. I just wish one of them would get fired already. When Trump was deciding who to fire on the other team I was screaming, Don't fire any of them! I was glad to see he took my advice. LOL.

I read somewhere that the reason Trump probably cast the non-celebrity Oma is because he knew people would tune in to root against her. Does anyone know how this has worked out for him, in the ratings?

Julia W, I agree. I'm so over the fighting between Omarosa and Piers. I'm not finding it fun to watch.

Personally, though, I think she is the bigger problem, and I think she should have been fired during the Vera Wang/Serta task since she led the team to their defeat and demonstrated absolutely no creativity. To me, she is nails on a chalkboard! (And how can someone who poured a drink over another's head talk about anyone else not having class?! She wouldn't know class if it bit her on the @ss!)

I wouldn't mind sitting down for a drink with Piers; he seems to have the ability to demonstrate manners and charm on occasion. I wouldn't even want to be in the same bar as Omarosa.

I dislike Omarosa just like everyone else, but the truth is she IS entertaining to watch.
I would definitely think she has helped ratings bc everyone wants to see what she will do next.

In this instance, she was in the wrong.
She did attack Piers on a personal level and did bring up his kids and that is very unprofessional and weakens her stance.
He did not freak out about her misspelling his name, he reprimanded her and told her to change it.
But that did not warrant Omarosa's ridiculous attack on Piers's family.

Piers does have an obnoxious way about him but I would rather work with him anyday then Omarosa bc she really is a meanspirited person at heart, Piers just sometimes does not communicate well.

There is a difference.

All that being said, I really enjoy this season much more then recent seasons, but then again the whole point of reality shows for me IS for the drama.

I heard that Celebrity Apprentice has been renewed for another season. Do you know if there is any word on who the contestants will be? Thanks!

From HD - No idea who they will be yet. But I'm glad it's been renewed! :)
