Dance War: Enough Of This Stupid Show!
This week's Dance War began with Team Carrie Ann performing for a couple of minutes to the Spice Girls "Spice Up Your Life". The dancing was fairly good but the lip-syncing was atrocious. Somebody really needs to teach these kids how to do this properly.
After their performance, we (the viewing audience) were treated to 23+ minutes of recaps over what happened last week. I could have read my recap of last week's episode many many many times over if I was really that interested. First, they recapped the guys and then the girls. They showed us how the teams were picked. All of this with several commercial interruptions. I could hear the remotes, from what few people had been tuned in, tuning out at 30 minutes after the hour. Can you say boring? Can you say dull? Can you say sucky?
I understand the networks have to pad their programming because of the writers strike but this was just ridiculous. If they're having to work this hard with so many people to fill out a show that's going to be lasting an hour-and-a-half, I'm afraid of what they'll be doing each week from here on out as people are kicked off.
Besides the stretching of time, the actual singing is almost non-existent on this show. I'd noticed the lip-syncing in the prior two episodes but the first team performance that I was able to watch before the recapping redux was nothing short of embarrassing. This was supposed to be a singing AND dancing competition. If it's going to be a lip-syncing while dancing competition then just say so up front and stop trying to lead the viewers on. I don't care if they can sing standing still or while swaying back and forth on the stage. That's not what the show's supposed to be about.
Scrubbing my bathtub with a toothbrush amidst deadly fumes from ammonia and bleach would have been more fun than wasting precious seconds of my life on this awfully bloated show.
Hooking the car battery up to my nipples and having my worst enemy turn the key would have had to have felt better than the way I felt watching the first first half hour of Dance War this week.
I don't care who wins. I'm over. I'm done. Enough of this stupid show!

What's there to add? You've summed it up perfectly. Click.
So, tell us what you REALLY think? :)
I have to agree - this is pretty bad. I missed last week's show (and couldn't be bothered to watch it on Tivo), but thought I'd give it another shot this week. Blech.
I don't think they're always lip-synching. That wouldn't explain why there was no sound when Chris was supposed to have his solo in the one song. But what bugs me the most about the show is that they don't even try to tone out the audience screaming during each performance. Seriously, through most of them, you couldn't even hear the singing (if, indeed, you wanted to!). Clearly they have the ability to mute that for the broadcast, but choose not to. I wonder if they think that by piping all that insane screaming in, that the viewing audience will think they're seeing stars in the making? All I know is I literally hate to mute the sound on the TV because the screaming was so piercing!
Have to say, I think I'm done with this one, too.
(Although did anyone else hear that Zach is apparently Julianne Hough's ex-fiance? I thought that was an interesting tidbit of information!)
OK, Chicagogal, Zach who???
Please dont tell me you mean Zach of BB8?
That seems so off.
HD Why are you not recapping Idol?
Maybe not now while the bad people are on, but can you do it once Hollywood round starts?
I love Idol as much as I love Big Brother.
Tamara,
Sorry but I absolutely can't stand the audition process for American Idol. I liked it when it was just a couple of weeks and a few idiots were shown but now with it lasting a month and full of freaks, I can't stand it. I prefer watching the competition itself.
As far as covering it, I probably won't be. Big Brother will be on on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and I am first and foremost a Big Brother fan. So I'll be posting and watching and everything else related to Big Brother over at Silly Hamsters. I'll try to catch AI when I can but I just can't see having enough time to cover the show here.
So yeah, I'm going to be missing a bunch of AI this season (which sucks) but I'd much rather watch Big Brother! LOL
I also hate this show. I would rather spend my time shut in a room scratching my fingernails across a blackboard! I'm done with it too.
LOL, Tamara, no not BB8 Zack (ick!). Zack from Dance Wars (http://abc.go.com/primetime/dancewar/index?pn=bios#t=teammembers&d=73470) - he's the cutie on Team Bruno. Apparently he and Julianne were engaged when she won DWTS with Apolo, but broke off the engagement after that.
