Survivor: Jeff, I Have It!

| | Comments (12)

Ni hao! This week's Survivor certainly didn't disappoint in the entertainment department. One fan favorite came ridiculously close to leaving and another castaway showed just how smart she was.

At the Fei Long camp on night 18 after Sherea's booting, Courtney's fellow tribe members were questioning her vote for Jean-Robert. Courtney let us know that she dislikes everybody but dislikes Todd and Amanda less than the others. She said Todd and Amanda mistake that for friendship and then flashed a wonderfully evil smile. That was by far one of the best Courtney moments so far this season.

On day 19, after Peih-Gee had a little "trust" talk with James, he found himself alone at camp while the others were down at the river. Guess what time it is. James pulled one of the square wooden symbols off of the archway but it wasn't the hidden immunity idol so he went around to the other side and grabbed the other. The second one was the correct one but he didn't get a chance to put the wrong one back before the others arrived back at camp.

Later that day Jaime noticed a wooden square missing from the archway and found it on the ground. Eric thought it looked "idolish" and put it in his bag. That evening, Jaime (with Eric there) goes through James' bag to see if he has the other one. Sure enough -- she found two of them wrapped up in a pair of his pants. Then Survivor ticked me off by going to commercial. I wanted to find out what she did!

James noticed the blank square (the one he wasn't able to replace) missing the next day and knows that one of them (Jaime or Eric) picked it up. He said he loved knowing that Jaime could have the blank one thinking that it was the real hidden immunity idol. While laughing, he goes on to imagine what her reaction would be if she pulled it out at tribal council to use it only for Jeff to tell her it was not an immunity idol.

Both teams show up for what would normally be a competition later that day only to have Jeffypop tell them to drop their buffs. They're merging! He doles out their black buffs, tells them they'll all be living at Fei Long's camp, and that they have to design their new flag and come up with a new name for their tribe when they get back to camp. But first, they get to take part in a merge feast complete with Chinese cultural performances. Before leaving for that Jeff told them to keep in mind that the game never stops. While Jean-Robert did wonder what Jeff meant by that at first, he dropped it from his mind and everybody enjoyed the food and the show.

After the show and back at the new/old camp, Jean-Robert cracked an awkward racial joke in James' direction while they were trying to figure out what to name their tribe. See, they wanted to incorporate "black" in the name and with James being black Jean-Robert thought he would be funny. After the deafening silence, Frosti tries to save the moment by saying that himself and Peih-Gee were on a yellow team. Alrighty then. They eventually settled on Hae Da Fung meaning black fighting wind.

They have a visitor! And it's Jeff! Surprise -- it's time for immunity and it will be held right there at their camp! After being reminded that the game never stops, they were told they would have to answer questions based on their recollection of events that happened during the feast and competition. Did I mention there had been alcohol consumed at the feast?

James, Amanda, Courtney, and Peih-Gee were eliminated on the first question. The remaining tribe members all answered the second question correctly. Todd, Jean-Robert, Denise, and Eric were out on the third question. Time for the fourth question and either Frosti or Jaime will win immunity. Four cultural dancers with long flowing skirts wore what on their feet? Frosti got lucky and wrote down "nothing" and wins immunity! Dancing his way over to Jeff, he's the first owner of this season's ugly immunity necklace.

Day 21 at Hae Da Fung and James was talking to Todd about his having both of the immunity idols and that he thinks Eric or Jaime has the blank one and Todd thinks that would be great. When James told Amanda about the situation she thinks Jaime has it and wants to boot Jaime out at tribal council. Later, Jean-Robert and Todd have a little chat. Jean-Robert tells Todd that if Todd and Amanda screw him over (Jean-Robert thinks he's their third wheel) that Todd will be the one he holds responsible and would lobby against him something hard if he finds himself on the jury.

The second best part of this week's show happens next. Jaime and Eric tell Frosti that they have the hidden immunity idol and tells him what they found in James' bag. (They didn't switch anything! They still have the blank idol! LMAO!) Jaime then told Todd that she knows who has one immunity idol and knows who has the other two. Jaime is making herself look like such a big fool and I love it. Todd told us that Jaime is on the small bike in the back trying to catch up and then we hear Jaime telling us she's good at playing stupid and that Todd would be surprised if she played the idol that night. Poor girl.

After the standard questioning by Jeff at tribal council, it's time to vote. They only showed us Jaime's vote for Jean-Robert and Courtney writing down a "J" and didn't even show James voting. Regardless, it's time to tally the votes. Stop Jeff! Jaime tells him she wants to play the immunity idol and gives it to Jeff. Jeff told her that it wasn't an immunity idol and threw it in the fire. One of the best Survivor moments ever! Meanwhile, James was having a hard time trying not to bust out into laughter. Jaime knew she was a goner at that point.

Jaime was pissed as her name kept getting called by Jeff and sure enough, by a vote of 6-3, she is out of there and is now the first member of the jury. In her closing words, she told us she's just too nice for Survivor and wishes Eric and Peih-Gee the best of luck. She hated that she trusted James. As far as the immunity idol, she said it was worth a shot playing it. Go have a drink girl. You'll need one as you think about things more.

Next week on Survivor, Todd wants to blindside James and get both immunity idols out of play and Peih-Gee makes a power play. Wonder what that means?

What did you think about this week's Survivor? How would you feel if you were Jaime?

I loved, loved, loved the show last night. This is why Survivor is the original and best reality show IMHO!

Your recap was great, right down to Courtney's evil smile. Now that she has survived to the merge, I think she'll be around for awhile.

It's too bad they cut away from Jaimie when she found the idols in James' pants (even saying that sounds hilarious). I would like to have seen if she examined them. Jeff throwing the idol in the fire was classic Jeff. I think he lives for stuff like that.

That Todd is a schemer. I like James, but Todd has a pretty good plan. The fact that they mentioned it in the preview, however, leads me to believe that the plan does not come to fruition.

I think PG's powerplay is that she tries to grab Frosti and Courtney, but that still won't give her the numbers. She is probably the next to go.

Last night's episode was boring challenging wise, but there was plenty of other stuff to keep it entertaining. I did like Jaimie and was sad to see her embarrassing herself, but that's what makes for good TV. I loved Todd's description of her.

I hate to throw accusations around on a clearly edited show, but is J-R a racist, or are they just trying to make him look like one? First the joke about James, and then he says that he knows that P-G is shady somehow and wants to get her out over Jaimie? Just an interesting point. I'm more than ready to give him a break and chalk it up to editing.

I loved the show last night!!! When Jamie presented the fake idol and the rest started laughing about it...OMG! I was rolling with laughter myself! Had I been her, I would have been so embarassed that I did that! Why, if they went through James' things and found the idols, didn't they LOOK at them? They would have known the one they had was a fake!

I'm still hoping that Courtney goes soon! She's of no use there to anyone and all she does is whine about how JR doesn't like her! Poor baby! And what was she doing cuddling up to Frosti? Does she think that will help her stick around awhile?

I think it will be interesting to see what PG's powerplay will be next week...but I just can't see her getting the numbers on her side!

I was happy to see the scheming Jaimie go. That's what you get for going through other people's stuff!

I hope Courtney and PG go next. They're so skinny that it is alarming!

Courtney is apparently cuddling up to everybody. JR mentioned her putting an arm around him.

Oh man, that was great editing. Just as we are about to see if Jaime looks further into James' stuff they cut away. It drove me nuts but it was great editing!

I think she didn't look any further into the two that James had because of the way he had them wrapped up. If she had opened them up he would have known it had been done so she just assumed that the same size and same shape meant the same thing.

I really enjoyed the tension throughout the whole show because we did not know if maybe she had switched her blank idol for a real one. The Tribal Council was the absolute best one ever with Jaime trying to be very nonchalant about presenting the Idol and Jeff just throwing it into the fire! I'm glad she's gone because I think she was a big danger as far as James going and he is my absolute favorite this season.

I keep hoping that some morning they will all wake up and find that Courtney has just gotten so small that she vanishes and none of us would have to listen to her complaining any more!

As far as JR being a racist, who knows? He's totally obnoxious even if he isn't but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he is. I loved how Frosti "saved" the day on the color issue. I'm liking him more and more each time I see him.

OK so why didnt Jaime steal the idol from James' bag?
There has to be a rule about that bc otherwise she'd be the stupidest person in the world not to steal it and let James keep it, even if she believed she had the real one.
Why let the strongest player in the game have one too??

HD, do you know the rules on that?

I think Frosti is one to watch.
Everyone likes him.
Everyone wants him to be on their side.
And he is very good at challenges, not just the strength ones, but the food one, and last nights.

I like PG, unfortunately, she is on the wrong side.
But I think maybe her power play may work bc there is definitely dissention in the other side with JR, Courtney...

Eric is not enough of a psychological player, and PG knows she needs to break away and go with stronger mental player.
I hope she pulls it off.

I would much rather see JR around then Courtney.
JR is very interesting, how he is playing the game.
Hes a poker player and a mastermind with the mind games.

Courtney is just an idiot, she whines and complains and brings nothing to the table challengewise and alliance wise.
How stupid is she to let her personal feelings dictate her vote instead of strategy?

Her side is willing to stick with her for a while and they have the #s yet she continues to vote for JR, for her personal reasons, and alienate herself from those who are protecting her.

I think PG should swap into Courtney's spot and the rest should vote Courtney out.

No idea on if Courtney would have been allowed to steal one or both of James' immunity idols. I can't imagine that it would be. I think Courtney just assumed she had a valid immunity idol and let it go at that. -HD

If I remember right, the rule is that you can't steal an immunity idol. The idol can only willfully change ownership and it has to be in front of the cameras. It's pretty much the same rules as personal property, but much tighter.

I don't think that JR is a racist. I think that he, like many, is not so sure of the rules, and wants to make sure he doesn't break them. I think he thought that having black in the name would be offensive to James. Obviously, bringing it up just made things awkward. I think most people nowadays try not to be racist. It would be different if he said something that stereotyped black people, like Amber on Big Brother did about Jews, and Dani and Amber did about Asian tippers. Actually, JR is the only one who is actually familiar with Mandarin, and comes across in that department as respectful. I do wish he's shut up at tribal council, though. Since he's not aware that Courtney heard his vulgar remarks when he was in the ocean with James (on Episode 2 or 3), he might not realize why she hates him so much.

So Jaime think she's too nice to win at Survivor. Too bad she didn't think about aligning with James when Aaron was still around. If she had tried to win that immunity challenge, when the tribes split, and made James and Aaron feel welcome, she might still be there. PG and Jaime both deserve to go. One down, and one to go. I see a realignment happening after next week. Then, who knows?

If you are useless around camp and you are useless in competitions, shouldn't you try to be cool and not talk behind everyone's back saying how you don't like anybody?

I saw an interview with Leslie (sister Christian) who said that Courtney was her favorite tribe-mate and that she hopes Courtney is the last Survivor. She gushed, "I just love that kid!" Stuff like this drives me nuts.

Ha!!! Delighted that Jaime got the boot. I was livid when she went through James' personal property. I was so nervous that Eric and Jaime had switched the fake idol for both the real ones. Glad Jaime left with egg on her face. And Jaime needs to get a clue-- a nice person wouldn't go through someone else's person property.

I like Eric, but so disappointed he aligned with Jaime. Glad that romance is over before it got started good.

Would love to see Todd and PG go next. Doesn't matter the order. Just go!!

I agree wholeheartedly with all that has been said....I am so happy to have been a survivor fan from season 1 epi 1...each season the logical me says to not waste my time, but I jsut cant turn away! This season has proven to me why i SHOULDNT turn away, its just dayum exciting!!!!

Now, what about if PG's plan is to throw Erik under the bus..after all, she has got to be concerned that he is not assertive or charismatic enough to draw anyone to their side, Frosti has obviouly flipped, so I think PG's only option is to exploit the Courtney/JR thing ans give Erik up. That would at least get her a few more days. i just dont think Erik has been in the game.
