Playing Favorites
I write about reality television because I absolutely love the genre. Many self-proclaimed television aficionados look down their noses at those of us who watch what they consider to be a an embarrassment of precious air-time. Who cares though? I don't. You probably don't care either if you're reading this.
So I have some questions for you concerning your favorites. (Don't worry, I'll be covering least favorites later this week.) Please post your answers in the comments for this post if you feel so inclined. Feel free to skip any question(s) you don't want to answer.

Now I know some of these might be hard to answer. There have been and are so many reality shows out there. So reach back into those dark recesses of your mind (or use a wiki to jog your memory) and start typing away.

1. Big Brother - Its the only show you can watch 24/7. It's uniquely different.
2. Amazing Race - It's cool to see the rest of world.
3. Survivor - It's classic.
4. The Osbournes - I know it's cheesey, but it's great tv. You never were dissapointed.
5. Will Kirby hands down. Greatest player ever in any reality show.
6. Sandra winner of Survivor Pearl Islands. I thought she played a great game, was great tv, and severely under rated.
7. Coral from the Real World. Who doesn't love a great bitch.
8. Tian and Jaree from Amazing Race season 4. They also made great tv, and you could always find a laugh from them.
9. Rob and Amber. They were great players.
10. Big Brother Season 3. Hands down never gets old. Watch it on DVD all the time. Secretly I hope Roddy will win every time I watch it.
11. Amazing Race Season 4 - Great teams, Evil teams. I loved it.
12. Big Brother Season 8 - I know it's new, but there were great characters.
13. Big Brother and Survivor.
1. All-time fav: Survivor because it's the original and it's still going strong.
2. 2nd fav: The Amazing Race
3. 3rd fav: Big Brother
4. Honorable Mention: Beauty and the Geek
5. Fav reality cast member: Johnny Fairplay. I still howl with laughter every time I think of his grandmother prank. And I howl even louder when I remember her sitting in the audience at the finale.
6. 2nd fav: Rob Cesternino (the best player to never win Survivor!)
7. 3rd fav: Rupert Boneham from Survivor Pearl Islands and All-Stars
7a: Honorable Mention: Yul, Yau-man, Sandra, Tina, Colby, Elizabeth, Terry (all from Survivor)
8. Fav duo: Rob and Amber from Survivor All-Stars. I'm a sucker for a happy ending.
9. 2nd fav: Dustin and Kandice from the Amazing Race (loved their "can do" attitude)
10. Fav season: Survivor: Australian Outback. I loved the cast, the challenges, I can still see Tina Wesson wading through that infested raging river to save their rice.... It doesn't get any better than that.
11. 2nd fav: Survivor: Pearl Islands
12. 3rd fav: Big Brother, Season 3
13. If you could only watch two reality shows: Survivor and the Amazing Race. I still have a sour taste in my mouth from this year's Big Brother or I would choose that over TAR.

What is your favorite reality television show of all time? Why?
My favorite reality program is Survivor. I like seeing who has survivor skills, and all the inner strategizing.
What is your 2nd favorite reality show of all time?
Big Brother, although I prefer the UK version. It comes on every day, has a better host, and is a lot more entertaining. I didn't really like this season of the US Big Brother.
What is your 3rd favorite reality show of all time?
Amazing Race. If I were to do a reality show, this would be my #1 choice. I like seeing all the different places.
Which reality show would you give the 'Honorable Mention' award to?
The Mole. I miss watching this show.
Who is your favorite reality cast member of all time? Why?
Rupert from Survivor Pearl Islands. If I were to be stranded on a desert island with just one person, he'd be the one to get stuck with. Not only does he have great survivor skills, but I love his enthusiasm. (Also I'm partial to hippies, being a middle aged hippy myself).
Who is your 2nd favorite reality cast member of all time?
The hippies from the Amazing Race who won a couple of seasons ago. I can't remember their names, but they really were entertaining.
Who is your 3rd favorite reality cast member of all time?
It's a tie between Dani from Big Brother Season 3 (the black widow) and Ozzie from last year's survivor.
Who is your favorite reality duo of all time?
Uchena and Joyce of the Amazing Race.

Dani and James in All Stars Big Brother
What has been your absolute favorite season of any reality show? Why?
Survivor Pearl Islands. I loved where Rupert stole the shoes.

Amazing Race, the year the hippies won.

If you could only watch two reality shows (and no others) each year, what would they be?
Survivor and Big Brother UK.
1. What is your favorite reality television show of all time? Why? Of all time would have to be Big Brother mostly because of the live feeds. If there were another show with live feeds, I would probably be all over that one too.
2. What is your 2nd favorite reality show of all time? Definitely Survivor.
3. What is your 3rd favorite reality show of all time? This is a hard one for me. I think I'm going to go with Cops. I just can't get enough of stupid people.
4. Which reality show would you give the 'Honorable Mention' award to? Probably either The Amazing Race or Real World.
5. Who is your favorite reality cast member of all time? Why? Didn't even have to think about this one - Colby of Survivor Outback. I love his personality, the way he looks, just everything about him. I wonder what he's up to nowadays.
6. Who is your 2nd favorite reality cast member of all time? Dr. Will from S3 and S7 of Big Brother U.S.
7. Who is your 3rd favorite reality cast member of all time? Hmmm. Pumkin from Flavor of Love and Charm School. I loved her for the drama.
8. Who is your favorite reality duo of all time? Why? Romber from The Amazing Race
9. Who is your 2nd favorite reality duo of all time? Will & Boogie from Big Brother All-Stars
10. What has been your absolute favorite season of any reality show? Why? Survivor Outback by a smidgen. I loved the land and I loved Colby. LOL
11. What has been your 2nd favorite season of any reality show? Season 3 of Big Brother
12. What has been your 3rd favorite season of any reality show? The Amazing Race Family Edition. Just kidding! Probably the very first season of American Idol.
13. If you could only watch two reality shows (and no others) each year, what would they be? Big Brother and oooh, this is hard. OK. Big Brother and American Idol.
I've seen Colby on a couple of TV shows (Bones and the short-lived Pepper Dennis), but he also turns up as a "regular" on the Rachael Ray show, too.

What is your favorite reality television show of all time? Why?
I still love Survivor. I love the locations and the challenges, and watching ordinary people turn all Lord of the Flies-ish. It's classic.

ANTM is my guilty pleasure. Or American Idol

Rob Mariano fr. Survivor -- smart, devious and entertaining.

Rupert fr. Survivor. The episode where he went all "pirate" and stole the goods was hilarious.

Colby fr. Survivor
Who is your favorite reality duo of all time? Why?
Rob and Amber aka Romber. They make a great team -- while other teams on the Amazing Race let the stress turn them into mean people who were mean to each other, I didn't see that from either of them.
What has been your absolute favorite season of any reality show? Why?
Survivor season one since that is what started my reality tv obsession.
What has been your 2nd favorite season of any reality show?
Survivor All Stars
If you could only watch two reality shows (and no others) each year, what would they be?
This question made me break out in a cold sweat. lol. How could I ever pick just two? That would be too cruel. I can't answer the question!
1. Amazing Race. I started watching a couple of years ago, and got hooked (late) on reality TV. I love the dynamics of the 2-person teams and the travel.
2. Survivor. I started only last season, but find it enjoyable.
3. So You Think You Can Dance. I didn't have any TV this summer so couldn't watch, but enjoyed it a lot a year ago.
4. Kid Nation? Enjoyable, but it's getting a little boring since nobody is leaving (with the 2 exceptions). I haven't watched anything else but Big Brother and American Idol.
5. Kandice and Dustin from Amazing Race.
6. Linz family from Amazing Race.
7. Eric from BB8.
8. Easy: Dustin and Kandice.
9. BJ and Tyler - TAR
10. TAR last fall.
11. TAR all stars.
