Survivor: I'm The Strong One In My Tribe
What did you think about last night's Survivor? I thought it was really good - except for the competitions.
The reward challenge was lame. Find eight boards to decode a Confucian phrase? Whatev. I thought it was stupid how the boards were all strapped to the walls in plain sight. You know, it's not like they should really have to work for their reward or anything.
The immunity challenge was almost as lame. Chicken hearts and eels? Even the thousand year-old egg (which are usually only around 100 days old BTW). How simple. I will admit though that I don't think I could have eaten the baby turtles or the chicken fetus. Feathers in my mouth and down my throat? No thank you. But couldn't they have found grosser foods? What about live squid or some shots of lizard liquor? Go ahead and Google it if you must.
I did love how Tweedledum and Tweedledee (Amanda and Todd) went about getting the hidden immunity idol down. It was even funnier when The Snowman went over to unknowingly help them. I was laughing my ass off. James' eye roll at the whole thing was the cherry on top though. Great editing by the producers there.
Of course, the best part of the entire show was Sherea getting the boot. I couldn't believe she actually had the audacity to say in her parting words that she was the strong one in her tribe. Yeah, OK. You just keep believing that Sherea.
It was like a breath of stale air when Courtney handed some of that backbone out that we've been staring at all season at tribal council. She'd better watch her back (and who couldn't) now with Todd though because he might consider throwing her skinny ass off The Great Wall sooner rather than later. And did you hear her bring up Luke Perry when Jean-Robert was talking about how he's the bad boy in the tribe? That was hilarious!!! Whodathunk we'd hear that name in a Survivor episode? Not me.
Next week doesn't look so good for my man James. It seems Jaime and Eric get to the hidden immunity idol before he does. I guess we'll find out how in the world that could have happened. And the big thing about next week's show? The merge. It's about time.

Just a quick comment. First off I loved the ep because my fave James is still there (I thought he was going to be a goner after last week). But about your comment about Jaime and Erik getting to the immunity idol first, I think (but I'm sure I could be wrong) that Todd gave James their immunity idol so he'd be safe (if their plan had worked and James' tribe had lost the challenge), so I think James has that idol and then will be trying to get the one from his camp this week. So it looked to me like Jaime and Erik found the idol from (perhaps) going through James' things? What do you think about that perspective? And if that's the case and they take it, are the players allowed to steal the idol from others? If so, what will stop James from stealing it back? And if that one was from Todd, James should be able to get the one from his camp, so he'd have at least one, hopefully!
Hmmmm, that would be interesting if they stole the idol from James. That sure would mess things up!
I used to like Sherea, but last night, I couldn't wait to see her out of there. Todd was pretty slick at getting James to get him the immunity idol, but pretty dumb to give it to James. Once James knew where it was, he should have told him to get it from his own camp. I don't like the way they were ganging up on JR, especially because it looks like he's now doing James' old job. They really need to get rid of Courtney next. She's not following her alliance's plan anymore, she's useless around camp, and she's terrible at the competitions. It will be interesting to see who gets the other immunity idol. If James gets it, will he really give it to Todd? If he doesn't get it, but Jaime or Matt have it, can Todd and Amanda use Frosti to find information? I'd like to see JR and Todd make up. If they have JR, they can cut Courtney. I'm also interested on whether or not they have to play the immunity idol before or after the vote this year.
I agree that the competitions last night were lame. Though I've had friends who've had to eat century eggs and said they were about the most disgusting thing you can think of!
Did Todd actually give James the idol? Why couldn't James just have gotten the one at the ZH camp? So now it seems that Jaimie and Erik found the idol in James' stuff and then picked up the one at the ZH camp that looks like it.
HD, couldn't Todd simply told James what and where the idol was, so that he can get it at ZH?
Yup Ronnica! That's what it seems like to me anyway.
Hi HD & Fam!
This season keeps getting better and better! I love these characters! I even like JR and his quirky ways, but I do agree with Courtney about not wanting to bathe near him...he just seems so icky in a chester kinda way.
Sherea may not have been the best at the game, but I actually got a kick out of her Ms billy bad ass attitude. I especially enjoyed how she shined PG on in the RC..PG was actually stunned that Sherea didnt stop what she was doing and pledge her undying adoration for the queen strategist. LMAO!
I agree that props should be given to the editors and producers for the amusing episode!Firstly, can we get a whoop whoop for Amanda finally showing up? My man James is such a star...I was so impressed with his chivalry in taking Denise off the hook in front of everyone without giving away the attempt to throw the comp...you know he could have eaten that mess in 2 bites. and the BOOTY SHOT! OMG! I ran up to my TV to try to wipe the blur, but to no avail! How lucky for Amanda, Denise and Courtney (and Todd?)
One thing I want to point out, and I could be wrong, but Todd had to give the HII to James since James would not have had opportunity to get the other HII from their camp... he joins them at IC, and maybe they were considering a possible 'immediately to TC' twist...I think the plan was that when he got back to camp, he would get it and have control of both. Funny that in next week's preview Erik and Jaime are questioning what it is when Congratulations blah blah blah was written on the back of it. Neither of those 2 have redeemed themselves with me. In fact Erik goes even further down by sealing his alliance with those 2 idiots. He needs to go because he is not thinking at all!
I'm hoping that whatever Jaime and Erik found was a fake II, and that was just to throw us off.
Loved seeing Sherea leave - didn't like her selfish attitude at all. And as for Courtney, I thought it was funny that her arguments to try to convince her team mates to vote off Jean Robert were "he'll vote against ME" and "he doesn't like ME". It wasn't in their best interest to vote Jean Robert out, just hers. Courtney's carping at Tribal Council certainly didn't win her any friends on her tribe, either. Wonder if she'll try to hook up with PG and Jaime after the merge?
At the beginning of the episode when Todd and Amanda were talking about the HII she said "the thing with the bats on it?" I think Todd said yeah. I watched the previews for next weeks episode and the thing that Erik held up saying it looked like it could be the HII didn't have bats on it. I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly or not. Also, if that is the case and there are two similar looking plaques one with the bats and one without is James smart enough to realize this? I also think JR wasn't that bad and I actually found myself liking him last night--but then again I am not the one living with him.
The Reward Comp was really lame, you are correct on that call. Interesting that only 3 survivors did not go... and they were the ones that either threw last weeks Immunity contest, or went along with the voting plan as a result. The immunity, ugh, a mixed bag. The feathers and beak, or the baby turtles... uh, nope not this gal.
Courtney's face when she realized that her vote for JR was sticking out like a sore thumb... me thinks that girl's days are numbered. She just has too many similarities of a stick, goes where the wind blows, hangs around doing nothing, sometimes tries to "stick it to you" and so on.
I agree, Todd gave James the Immunity Idol, so am wondering about what Jamie and Erik had. We'll have to see next week.
Finally, I have to admit I was disappointed in the blur when James was showering. Darn...
Well I'm hooked. First year for me on Survivor.
Don't know all the contestant's names yet, but think they voted out a correct person. I can't stand it when people in game shows throw competitions and Sheare (? sp) did last week.
Am still wondering when the perimedics carry out Courtney.
Courtney grates on me because she is like BB8's Danielle in too many ways: a bony, self-centered narcissist.
ChicagoGal summed it up perfectly: "Loved seeing Sherea leave - didn't like her selfish attitude at all. And as for Courtney, I thought it was funny that her arguments to try to convince her team mates to vote off Jean Robert were 'he'll vote against ME' and 'he doesn't like ME.'"
Besides, Courtney has already expressed her contempt for her fellow contestants because they, unlike her, are not from New York City. I don't know what it is about New Yorkers and Parisians that makes them think that by simply spending their lives in a particular city somehow imbues them with an innate superiority.
