Dancing With The Stars: Don't Faint
"It was billed as the sexiest night ever until this...."
I just had to copy what Tom Bergeron said at the beginning of the Dancing With The Stars results show last night because it was so overdramatic that it was hilarious. How many times did they replay Marie fainting? I lost count.
The rankings after Monday night's show: Tied for 7th place were Marie & Jonathan and Mark & Kym with 21 points; in 6th place was Helio & Julianne with 23 points; in 5th place was Jennie & Derek with 25 points; Jane & Tony and Cameron & Edyta were tied for 3rd place with 26 points; Sabrina & Maks were in 2nd place; and Mel & Maks were atop the leaderboard with 29 points. So guess who got to dance the encore dance? Mel & Maks of course. While their samba wasn't as good as the night before it was still pretty darn good.
Were you looking for J-Lo's baby bump like I was while she was performing her first song, 'Do It Well'? I wasn't able to really detect it until about halfway through the song. She looked great, her performance was good, and her singing was typical Jennifer Lopez.
Sabrina & Mark are safe! Mel & Maks are safe! Mel looked so shocked when Tom said that. Next week, the couples will dance in their first group routine of the season along with their usual couple's dance. Christian Perry will be the choreographer. His professional dancers danced to a little rock and roll number last night and while it was cool, you could tell they needed just a tad more practice time.
However, the DWTS dancers did a freaking fantastic job when they danced to Jennifer Lopez's second number, 'Let's Get Loud'. I thought they were much better than Christian's dancers. Ha!
DWTS did a couple of time-killer pieces going over how the dancers choreograph and their methods. Then they went through the stars' day jobs and how they balance that with learning their routines. Let's just get on to the results already!
Cameron & Edyta are safe. Jennie & Derek are safe. Mark & Kym are in the bottom two (who didn't see that coming). After yet another commercial break, Tom announced that Marie & Jonathan are safe and so are Helio & Julianne. Jane & Tony are in the bottom two.
Mark & Kym vs. Jane & Tony. One of these couples will be leaving. Who will it be?
It was Mark & Kym. He seemed fine with it but I wished he would have stayed. I wouldn't have minded Jane & Tony going home. Oh well, somebody has to leave. At least he lost some weight! He said he'd lost 34 pounds since he started the show. Bravo!

you may not have known- but the JLo segments were taped in advance on Sunday (I think it was because her grandmother died, but I'n not 100% sure)
and the Amazing Race site is up...this looks like the best casting yet (and NO "Alpha Male" team this year!)
breakdown:
3 female/female teams (LA Blonde friends, sisters, and married ministers)
1 male/male team (Grandfather/Grandson)
7 male/female teams (Dating "goths", Dating "couple in conflict", father/daughter, brother/sister, dating "couple using the Race as a test of their relationship", best friends, and dating "Race as an adventure")
Thanks for that David W! I did not know that. I'm so glad TAR's site is up. I have to go check them out now. LOL
