The Biggest Loser: Cowboy Out
You remember Neil's subterfuge last week right? Of course you do. On Tuesday evening, The Biggest Loser spent a great deal of time focusing on the fallout of that while including tons of clips of Neil's subsequent alienation. We also saw a lot of him saying, "This is a game."
Neil, everybody participating in TBL and watching at home knows it's a game. Besides better health, there are 250,000 buckaroos at stake and you can buy a lot of donuts running shoes with that kind of cash. So Neil, you're not the only one that wants to win the "game".
Besides Neil sabotaging Jez last week, Amy revealed to Jillian that she too purposefully didn't lose weight last week. Why? Because Neil pressured her to do so. Since when did Neil become the Godfather?
The Biggest Loser has been basically a "feel good" show since its inception but this season has a different feel to it. With all of the shenanigans going on, it's becoming more like Big Brother or Survivor as the weeks go by. Perhaps I'm getting softer in my old age or maybe I'm still upset over another certain show but I just don't like this kind of behavior on TBL.
We could debate back and forth how manufactured the show is and how unrealistic it is until the cows come home but I still would like a few of my shows to be "nice" and not quite so cutthroat. I was upset that David was voted out last night and I appreciated his final words to his former competitors even if they didn't. Just put your head down, do your job, and lose your weight. Stop all of the over-the-top gameplay.
I just hope that Neil and Isabeau actually paid attention to what he said. And hopefully Amy will find a backbone and do what she wants instead of what others want her to do.
The best part of the show however last night was during Bill's and Kae's weigh-ins. Bill has lost an amazing 83 pounds since he started the show (two months) and Kae has lost 57 pounds. You could just see the pride they were gaining in themselves shining through and its moments like those that keep me watching.
Next week, the campus is going green. In other words, the machines in the gym are being unplugged and they'll have to find other methods to work out. Also next week, it seems Neil will have some kind of incredible weight loss. Perhaps he got his dirty little hands on a colon cleansing kit to help him accomplish that.

Good post!
