Breaking Point
You know what? I think I finally found a reality show this season that I think I don't want to watch anymore. You guessed it. It's The Bachelor.
Last night's show was utterly stupid. Usually I can keep watching The Bachelor because of two reasons: the "hotness" factor and at least a couple of the girls actually have personalities. This season, I'm down to one reason for watching and I can't take it anymore. Brad's a hot hunk of man all right but but the women that are competing for him? I'd rather stare at a brick of sharp cheddar cheese for an hour. Hell, I'd rather be sprayed in the face with pepper spray repeatedly for an hour.
Might I watch at least the finale to find out who he proposes to? Possibly. Will I recap the finale here on Silly Reality? Perhaps. Will I watch any of the shows until the finale? Not likely.
So I apologize to all of you aspiring bachelorettes and, perhaps, bachelors out there and beg your forgiveness. I just can't do TB anymore - at least not this season.
I'll be replacing The Bachelor with another show quick enough though. The Amazing Race begins Sunday, November 4th, and I absolutely can't wait! How many of you are fans of TAR?

My recorder let me down last week (ok, ok, it was human error) and I missed The Bachelor. But I managed to pick the threads up this week without too much trouble(ha,ha). I agree with you; it is just plain awful. Maybe there were some bitchy girls in the cast, but he got rid of them too early. Where's the drama of past seasons? We have no one to hate. But, alas, I have invested too much time to stop watching it now.
Can't wait for TAR; I've been checking the CBS website for the contestants, but no luck yet. I'm glad Viva Laughlin was cancelled so that they bring back TAR earlier than January.
HD, you are catching on to why I haven't watched The Bachelor in a few years. It's just gotten so vapid that it's difficult to endure. :( I am VERY excited about The Amazing Race, though!! :D Was it brought back now purely because they canceled Viva Laughlin, or were they going to bring it back now anyway and just had not announced it?
From HD - CBS meant this season of The Amazing Race to be a mid-season replacement. We got lucky though that Viva Laughlin was cancelled so soon! Yay for us!
I'll definitely be tuning in to TAR, it's one of my reality faves. I just hope there isn't another "Jonathon & Victoria" team this season--it was too painful to watch him degrade her like that. Oh sure, the stress of TAR can bring out some pretty hurtful behavior between the teams, but that was way over the top.
I watched one episode of the The Bachelor and realized that was one "reality" show that wasn't worth taking up my reality time :)
But YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY that TAR is starting soon! Awesome show - even if my favorites almost never win. I love seeing the different places they travel to, and the different cultural activities they sorta kinda participate in. Not to mention laughing at how clueless some of the teams end up being!
It's changed a bit, though, and not for the better. At the beginning, it was really all about how well teams did on their own - pretty much everyone played with integrity. Now, there's more of a sabotage factor (people cancelling other people's cabs, etc.) that I really think is unnecessary. They don't necessarily need to help each other, but I'd prefer if they didn't overtly try to hinder each other. Hopefully there won't be any of that this season!
For some reason, I can't sign in... so have to do this annoymously.
I also can't wait for TAR. this is my favorite show. And I agree with Chicagogal, they should not be allowed to sabatoge the other players. They should play by rules. That would make it more of a race.
Can't wait till next Sunday!

I too can't wait for The Amazing Race.
