Dancing With The Bachelor
Tonight, two of my favorite reality shows begin. Dancing With the Stars premieres tonight at 8:00 ET/PT on ABC and The Bachelor follows it at 9:30 ET/PT on ABC as well.
I like watching DWTS because, well, I plain wish I could dance like that! On DWTS tonight, we'll watch the women and their professional partners shake it up on the dance floor. Tomorrow night, the men take the floor. Finally on Wednesday evening, one of the pairs will be eliminated at the end of the results show. Three nights is a little overkill if you ask me. I'd much rather they shorten the routines so that everybody can dance tonight instead of spreading the numbers over two nights.
I love watching TB because of its cheesiness. How can you not like a show where most of the women fall in love with a guy they hardly know and make fools of themselves on national television? I particularly love it when they leave in tears because they weren't chosen. *note to self - find out when Flavor of Love starts*
I don't know how many of you watch the Discovery channel but I kept seeing commercials this weekend for a new show they have starting Thursday, October 4th, called Last One Standing. Ladies, I highly recommend you check out the video there for some nice male hotness. According to this article, "six athletes as they travel the world to compete in various tribal sports with ritual significance". This is a show I will definitely watch. I may not be able to watch it live but it will definitely be on the DVR for my enjoyment at a later time.
Speaking of, I finally watched America's Next Top Model last night when it was replayed on The CW. Like always, Tyra starts with a big group of girls and narrows it down to the ones who will be competing for the contract and layout. Overall, it's an OK group of girls. After just this one episode my two favorites are Jenah and Janet (bikini wax girl). There seems to be lots o' drama going down this season (as in every season) and I can't wait. I can't wait for some of these girls to get their makeovers (Lisa and Bianca especially) and can't wait for the competition to really begin.
And wrapping up with some Big Brother news, Amber gave an interview with the folks over at BuddyTV a few days ago and all I can say is 'Wowza'. That girl is truly delusional. Read it and judge for yourselves here.
What are you going to be watching tonight? What do you think about Last One Standing?

I stopped watching the Bachelor when they had the Firestone heir as the bachelor.
I like DWTS, but even under 'normal' circumstances two nights a week is too much IMO.
What will I be watching tonight? Heroes.
I agree with you that dragging out DWTS over two nights, then a third of the results show is overkill. I never watch the results show live because it is always too loooong.
I used to have a fundamental problem with the premise of The Bachelor. A group of women sitting around waiting for some guy to hand them a rose is my idea of sexist humiliation. Then, after the first season, I decided that the babes knew what they were getting into when they signed up, so I have to watch it with that in mind. Now I watch LMFAO because they are so delusional. Perhaps I am not a romantic?
Really looking forward to DWTS tonight. My children and I watch it together and have fun. We all wanted Apollo last season and can't wait to see if we are in agreement this year. Have two early favorites and can't wait to see if they CAN dance! That would be Cameron & Pretty Boy. Both are in great shape and have terrific partners. I am excited that the professional winner of last season is here again and with her brother this year. If you saw the two of them dance last year, all I can saw is WOW! They are wonderful, but I don't see much hope for either one of their partners this year. Also looks like Cherl Burke doesn't have another Drew or Emmet with her. Thats okay though as when she won with Emmet over Mario, I was so angry. He wasn't even close, that was all football fans!
Enough of my personal opinions... Can't wait..
One last thing HD. I read an article somewhere, maybe Jokers, I can't remember exactly where, that Amber was fired from her job over her remarks and in general, her behavior on BB. Do you have any verification of that? Thanks if ya do.
From HD - I don't know if Amber really was fired but I've read the same thing as you a couple of times since BB ended.
We know one thing on DWTS tonight-Samantha Harris won't be there. She had her baby yesterday...
And I think splitting it isn't that bad, because we know someone is eliminated Wednesday-last time the first week and 2nd week was combined for the first elimination, so the first week was useless..
I too watched ANTM last night for the first time. Hey HD, I read or heard somewhere that Tyra deliberately didn't look for the best looking models this year, did you hear that? I must say that it sure appears as if she didn't. I was really surprised with some of the picks. It's a shame if that was her intention. I can't imagine how I would feel about this "twist" if I was one of the "models".
Me, I'm just hoping to see Eric and Jessica on The Amazing Race!
Enjoyed DWTS tonight, but agree, two nights of comp is one night too many. Because it has gotten good ratings, they are trying to milk if for all it is worth, IMO. Was surprised at how poorly the model did, all show I guess in her case.
And TB ...what can I say, some of those "ladies" were clueless. Want to see my webbed toes, and yup, I am in an evening gown and going to show my flexability, by tucking my legs behind my head. And the clueless blond who's best talent was getting drunk, and not making any real sense. Ah well... gives some chuckles for those of us watching.
Lastly, Amber's interview... interesting to say the least. And a good argument for not doing drugs - this is your brain on drugs...
Heroes....but first DWTS. It was a good show. I was surprised by Cheetah Girl...though, if I hear the phrase "cheetahliscious" one more time I think I'll puke!
Jane Seymour still looks divine!
Oh...read that Amber interview...OH MY GOSH...can you say "back pedaling?" She seems to realize people really didn't like her and judged her pretty harshly for her behavior. I thought was interesting she tried to blame so much of it on the editing...honey, either you cried or didn't. Either you stood around and talked about yourself or you didn't. Don't blame editing...and then put out a disclaimer at the end of the interview apologizing for the same behavior you said wasn't portrayed truthfully in the first place. What a loon!
I stopped watching The Bachelor around the same time as EricC. I got bored with it since it is always the same song and dance. I prefer Flavor of Love now, trashy as it may be. ;) DWTS is on waaaay too much for me right now. I might pick it up when they get down to just twice a week.
